Basso & Brooke SS12

Basso & Brooke showed off their new SS12 collection yesterday at the Old Sorting Office on New Oxford Street. Their latest collection bears many of the design duo's trademark features - sharp technique, rich colour, elegant tailoring and bold prints all roll into one to create a classic, wearable collection. A brand defined by print, Basso & Brook's SS12 collection features tropical graphics mixed with hot house florals and hard-edge foliage in every colour imaginable. Inspiration for the prints came from Basso's expedition, by car from London to Beijing, driving for weeks across various landscapes. Although the prints are busy they're far from garish or over the top and are made elegant by the use of soft fabrics and clever design. I love how the prints evolve from one garment to the next!

PPQ Team With Bebaroque For A 90's Inspired SS12 Collection

Celebrating their 10th anniversary at London Fashion Week PPQ looked to the brand's 90's roots for inspiration for their SS12 collection which is a fusion of chic pastels, tight denim and bold prints which feature monograms of the brand's initials.

For Spring 2012 PPQ design duo Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker have collaborated with hosiery brand Bebaroque to created a capsule collection of hosiery and body suits to sit alongside the collection. Knee high socks, ankle socks, bodies and tights showcase Bebaroques signature embellishment and prints.

For the PPQ capsule collection Bebaroque cites influences from vintage imagery, PPQ branded lettering and signature Bebaroque prints. All of which have been carefully blended to create a unique range which combines directional colour ways with subtle hints of animal prints and embellishment.

Bebaroque, who recently won Scottish Accessory Designer of the Year at the Scottish Fashion Awards, is definitely a brand to keep an eye on!

What do you think of the PPQ/Bebaroque collaboration??

Jason Wu Spring 2012 Collection

Fashion Week has officially kicked off in NY and one of the first designers to unveil their new collection was Jason Wu.

I've already fallen in love with Wu's S/S12 collection. A range of Red-Carpet worthy styles in a mixture of soft printed chiffons and embellished satins shimmied down the catwalk in ballerina pink, electric blue and lime green, perfect colours for the summer season. His designs seem to have followed on from a lot of the popular trends we're seeing for A/W, with stunning jewelled peter pan collars, Peplum skirts and pussy bow necklines this collection is sure to be a favourite of the Red-Carpet elite.  I love the thigh skimming shorts and drop back skirts and dresses!

Bertie's A/W 2011 Collection

I always look forward to seeing what Bertie have to offer each season (I'm a bit of a shoe-aholic) and this Autumn they have some uber gorgeous styles that I'm definitely adding to my shopping list!

With chic ankle boots, boyish brogues and loafers, ladylike T-bar heels and stomp around wedges Bertie have a shoe for every fashionista this Autumn.

I'm loving their new Autumn campaign, it captures the retro feel of the collection with statement boots and heels being a main feature. The styling is gorgeous and has given me some wardrobe inspiration for the season; I love the rolled up jeans worn with red socks and wedge boots, it's definitely a look I'll be trying out! The English pub setting is just adorable and really in keeping with the British-ness of the brand. The whole feel of the campaign has me wishing for Autumn to hurry up so I can start stomping around in some shiny new boots!

Fabrics for the season include suede, python and corduroy which add texture while detailing includes stitching, tassels, studs and metallic buckles.

Black leather, velour and suede add a rock chick vibe to wedged boots, perfect for recreating the gothic/vampy look seen on the A/W Catwalks.

I borrowed a couple of samples to test out, here's what they looked like.....

I can't get enough of the Jester B Boots, apart from looking amazing on they're also really comfy and look great worn with jeans, skirts, shorts....pretty much anything! They have stitched seam detailing along the front that makes them stand out from your average black ankle boot.

Get the Stella McCartney Look for Less

Its no secret that polka dots are a big trend this Autumn, they were seen all over the A/W 11 catwalks of top designers including Marc Jacobs, David Koma and Diane Von Furstenberg. My favourite polka dot designs of the season are these gorgeous dresses by Stella McCartney.

McCartney's polka dot panelled dresses have already been a hit with her A-list friends including Liv Tyler and Kate Winslet. These black dresses with sexy sheer polka dot panels have been cut in a way that creates an illusion of a slimmer waist, creating a slim-line silhouette. The high neckline and knee length skirts keep a demure element to these styles, which are by far the most grown up polka dots around this season.

With price tags starting from over £1,000 these dresses are massively out of my price range so I hunted down some 'look-a-likes' that are slightly more affordable. The One Sleeve Spot Mesh Dress from Asos and the Spot Mesh Dress from Diamond by Julien Macdonald at Debenhams are perfect for recreating a McCartney look and at bargain prices of £40 & £50 they're far more affordable that the designer options! Accessorise with simple black heels for sophisticated polka dot style.
