Miu Miu - Get the look for less

Originally popular in the 40's and then the 80's the peplum dress has recently made a comeback in the fashion stakes thanks to designers including Stella McCartney and Miu Miu who's Autumn collections feature some gorgeous peplum styles.

Peplum dresses, for those who have no idea what I'm going on about are dresses that have a single short over skirt that adds volume, instant glamour and drama to any style. This silhouette is uber flattering and ladylike and a great look for special occasions if you want to stand out from the crowd.

Miu Miu's A/W 11 collection is my favourite of the season with a take on 1940's tailoring mixed with utility colours and floral embroidery. When it comes to dresses Miu Miu is all about feminine and flattering shapes -  I love this structured peplum dress with cap sleeves, but with a price tag of £820 it's a little out of my price range!

If you're on more of a high street budget but want to get the Miu Miu look head to A/Wear. This black belted Peplum dress is only £45 and is oh-so-similar to the Miu Miu dress. Wear with black heels and a block colour clutch for some serious power dressing.
